Little Claus and Big Claus by Hans Christian Andersen.

Rating - ★

Age Limit Suggestion - 10+ (It is a fairy tale but its a little gruesome)

This book is one of the series in the book of The Tinder Box by Hans Christian Andersen, it is the story of two men - Little Claus and Big Claus. Big Claus always has to beat Little Claus in some way or another. Material things cause arguments among them but in the end its intelligence that over rules.

I did really like this book as Hans Christian Andersen is a great author and the book tells a great tale and intelligence usually being more helpful, especially in this case, than money.
This story, as I have said before, is quite gruesome as there are quite a few killings in and in quite a lot of detail too but it is a children's fairy tale so its not a horror story or anything.

The only reason that I have given this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the inconsistency of age from the first story this one. Although this book has been put together, I can't really judge but I don't think it's very well thought out. If you're a young child wanting to reading a nice tale about magic and princesses then The Tinder Box is great but if you happen to flick over the page to this short story then it doesn't quite have the same sort of theme so just go careful with that.

Over all this is a great little story and I would recommend you read it. As I have said before, you can find the whole book including this story at Waterstones for just 80p :)

Have fun, read it for yourself and happy reading.
